Shipping Policy
TAA Fishing
Last updated: 29 September 2026
This Shipping Policy explains how orders placed directly with The Amateur Angler Ltd trading as TAA Fishing are processed, dispatched and delivered, together with information about delivery charges, international orders, customs, delivery delays, lost parcels and goods damaged in transit.
This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy.
Nothing in this Shipping Policy excludes, restricts or reduces any statutory consumer right or remedy which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
1. About TAA Fishing
TAA Fishing is a trading name of The Amateur Angler Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16934866.
Our registered office is 6 Dandelion Road, Frome, BA11 5FL, United Kingdom.
Our customer-service email address is info@taafishing.com.
Orders placed directly through the TAA Fishing website are supplied by The Amateur Angler Ltd.
2. Delivery Areas and Charges
TAA Fishing delivers to the destinations made available during checkout.
For eligible UK orders, standard delivery is £4.50 for orders under £25 and free for orders of £25 or more, unless a different delivery charge is clearly shown during checkout before the order is placed.
Where an order requires a different delivery service because of its size, weight, destination or another relevant factor, any applicable delivery charge will be displayed before you submit the order.
International delivery charges vary according to destination, parcel size, weight and available carrier services. The delivery amount payable to TAA Fishing will be shown during checkout.
Delivery charges may change for future orders. A later change will not alter the delivery charge already agreed for an existing accepted order.
3. Order Processing and Dispatch
We normally aim to prepare orders for dispatch within 1 to 3 business days.
This is a processing target rather than a guaranteed dispatch period unless we have expressly agreed otherwise.
Business days generally exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in England.
Processing may occasionally take longer because of unusually high order volumes, stock verification, product quality checks, payment verification, suspected fraud, carrier availability or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
An order being processed, packed or prepared for dispatch does not by itself mean that the order has been accepted.
Our rules concerning when a binding contract is formed are explained in our Terms & Conditions. Unless we expressly accept an order earlier, acceptance normally occurs when we confirm dispatch of the relevant goods.
4. Estimated Delivery Times
For UK standard delivery, we normally estimate delivery within approximately 2 to 5 business days after dispatch.
International delivery times vary according to the destination, carrier, customs processing, local delivery services and other circumstances.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, delivery dates and times shown on our website or provided by a carrier are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates.
Estimated delivery times normally begin when the order is dispatched rather than when the order was originally placed.
Where applicable consumer law requires delivery within a particular period, those statutory requirements continue to apply.
5. Delivery and Passing of Risk
Where TAA Fishing arranges delivery using a carrier offered by us, the goods generally remain at TAA Fishing’s risk until they come into the physical possession of you or another person identified by you to receive them.
The fact that the parcel has been handed to a courier does not normally transfer the risk of loss or damage to the consumer.
Different rules may apply where you independently arrange a carrier which TAA Fishing did not offer as a delivery option.
Nothing in this policy transfers risk to a consumer earlier than applicable law permits.
6. Delivery Addresses and Address Changes
Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address when placing your order and check the information carefully before submitting it.
If you discover an error after ordering, contact info@taafishing.com as soon as possible.
We will make reasonable efforts to correct an address where this is still operationally possible, but we cannot guarantee that a change can be made once an order has entered picking, packing, dispatch or carrier processing.
TAA Fishing is not responsible to the extent that a delivery problem is caused solely by materially inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the customer and applicable law does not make us responsible for the resulting loss.
Where an incorrect address supplied by the customer causes a parcel to be returned, redirected or sent again, we may require payment of reasonable additional delivery or carrier costs genuinely caused by that error where applicable law permits.
7. Attempted, Failed and Uncollected Deliveries
Carriers may make delivery attempts, leave delivery instructions, redirect parcels to a collection location or make other arrangements depending upon the delivery service being used.
Customers should follow reasonable carrier instructions concerning rearranging delivery or collecting a parcel.
Where a parcel is returned to TAA Fishing because the customer supplied an incorrect address, failed to collect it, repeatedly failed to accept delivery or otherwise caused the delivery to fail, we will contact the customer where reasonably possible.
Where additional delivery or return costs arise solely because of circumstances for which the customer is responsible, TAA Fishing may recover or deduct genuine and reasonable costs only where applicable law permits.
This does not apply where delivery failed because of a matter for which TAA Fishing remains legally responsible.
8. Delivery Delays
Carriers occasionally experience delays caused by matters such as severe weather, transport disruption, unusually high parcel volumes, customs processing, industrial action, local delivery problems or other external circumstances.
TAA Fishing is not responsible for a delay to the extent that applicable law does not make us responsible and the delay results from circumstances genuinely outside our reasonable control.
However, the fact that we use an independent carrier does not automatically remove TAA Fishing’s legal responsibilities to the customer.
Where a parcel is substantially delayed, please contact info@taafishing.com so that we can review the tracking information and, where appropriate, raise an investigation with the carrier.
Any statutory rights arising because goods have not been delivered within the period required by law remain unaffected.
9. Tracking, Lost Parcels and Parcels Marked as Delivered
Where tracking is available, tracking information will normally be provided following dispatch or through the relevant carrier communication.
If tracking has not updated for an unusual period or you believe that your parcel has been lost, please contact info@taafishing.com.
Where appropriate, we may investigate the matter with the carrier before determining the appropriate resolution.
If tracking shows that a parcel has been delivered but you have not received it, please first check any nominated safe place, household members, reception or concierge areas and any delivery information made available by the carrier.
If the parcel still cannot be located, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
A carrier’s electronic delivery status may be relevant evidence, but it does not automatically determine whether the goods were actually received. Where necessary, we may consider tracking data, delivery photographs, carrier information and other relevant evidence when investigating the matter.
10. Goods Damaged During Delivery
If an item arrives physically damaged, please report the matter as soon as reasonably possible through our Returns & Cancellations page.
Prompt reporting helps us preserve carrier and packaging evidence.
Where possible, reporting obvious transit damage within approximately 48 hours is helpful, but this is not a deadline which automatically removes your statutory rights.
Please retain the product, outer packaging, internal protective packaging and shipping label where reasonably possible until we confirm whether they are required for investigation.
We may reasonably request photographs showing the goods, packaging and damage.
A fishing rod which arrives physically broken, cracked, crushed, bent or otherwise damaged during delivery must also use the normal Returns & Cancellations process.
Delivery damage to a fishing rod should not be reported through the Fishing Rod Fault / Warranty Claim Form.
11. Incorrect or Missing Goods
If your parcel contains an incorrect product, incorrect variation, incorrect quantity, missing item or missing component, please report the issue through our Returns & Cancellations page.
We may reasonably request photographs of the goods received, parcel contents, packaging or shipping label where this assists us in investigating what happened.
Where reasonably practicable, please retain relevant packaging until the matter has been resolved.
12. Split Shipments and Oversized Items
Orders may occasionally be dispatched in more than one parcel because of product size, availability, packaging requirements or carrier restrictions.
Where this happens, the separate parcels may arrive at different times.
The arrival of one parcel does not necessarily mean that another parcel from the same order has been lost.
Fishing rods and other oversized products may require different carriers, packaging arrangements or delivery services from smaller tackle items.
Where this materially affects the price or delivery method, the relevant information will be shown during checkout or otherwise provided before the order is accepted where required.
13. International Orders, Customs Duties and Import Taxes
International customers are responsible for checking whether the goods can lawfully be imported into their destination and whether local restrictions apply.
Unless checkout expressly states that a particular import tax, customs duty or similar charge is included or prepaid, the price paid to TAA Fishing does not include foreign customs duty, import VAT, brokerage fees, carrier customs charges or other amounts imposed when the goods enter the destination country.
These charges may be imposed by the destination country’s customs authority, tax authority, postal operator or carrier and are normally the responsibility of the recipient.
TAA Fishing does not control the amount or assessment of foreign customs charges and cannot guarantee whether a destination authority will impose them.
Where customs duty, import VAT, brokerage charges or similar amounts are paid directly to a foreign authority, postal operator or carrier, those amounts were not received by TAA Fishing and are therefore not refunded by TAA Fishing as part of an ordinary product refund.
Depending upon the destination country’s rules, a customer who later returns or re-exports the goods may be able to apply directly to the relevant authority or provider for repayment of some import charges.
Where TAA Fishing itself collected a particular tax or duty during checkout, the treatment of that amount will depend upon applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.
14. Refused and Undeliverable International Parcels
Refusing an international parcel does not necessarily avoid customs, carrier or return charges and should not normally be used as a substitute for following the correct cancellation and return process.
Where an international parcel is refused, unclaimed or otherwise returned because of circumstances for which the customer is responsible, TAA Fishing may deduct from any refund genuine and reasonable delivery, carrier, return or customs-clearance costs actually incurred and which applicable law permits the customer to bear.
We will not make deductions for costs which the law requires TAA Fishing to bear.
Where goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming, the separate faulty-goods rules contained in our Returns Policy apply.
Where reasonably possible, customers wishing to return an international order should therefore follow the normal return procedure rather than simply refusing delivery.
15. Cancelling an Order and Returning Goods
If you wish to cancel an order before dispatch, please email info@taafishing.com immediately, clearly stating that you wish to cancel and providing enough information for us to identify the order.
The physical Returns Form is not our initial order-cancellation form.
We will make reasonable efforts to stop an order before dispatch but cannot guarantee that this will be possible once picking, packing or carrier processing has begun.
If the goods have already been delivered and you need to return them physically, please use our Returns & Cancellations page.
The full rules concerning statutory cancellation, change-of-mind returns, return costs, diminished value, faulty goods, international returns and refunds are contained in our Returns Policy.
16. International Returns and Faulty Goods
For an international change-of-mind return, the customer is normally responsible for arranging and paying the direct cost of returning the goods where they were properly informed of that responsibility and applicable law permits it.
International returns should be correctly declared for customs purposes.
Customers must not falsely declare returned goods as gifts, deliberately understate their value or otherwise provide inaccurate customs information.
If TAA Fishing incurs genuine and reasonable return or customs-clearance costs which were legally the customer’s responsibility, those costs may be deducted from the refund only where applicable law permits.
The position is different where goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
Where applicable law requires TAA Fishing to bear reasonable or necessary return costs for faulty goods, we will do so, including for overseas customers where the relevant law requires this.
An international customer who believes goods are faulty should contact us before independently arranging an expensive international return. This allows us to assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange or approve a suitable return method.
Full information is contained in our Returns Policy.
A suspected fishing rod manufacturing, material or workmanship fault should be reported through our Fishing Rod Warranty, Registration & Claims page.
A fishing rod physically damaged during delivery must instead use our normal Returns & Cancellations process.
17. Related Policies, Changes and Contact Details
This Shipping Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, which explain the overall contractual relationship and when an order is accepted.
