Join the TAA Rig Supply Programme

Supply Premium Rigs for the UK’s Most Discerning Anglers

The Rig Supply Programme is the heart of the TAA Workshop. We’re looking for skilled rig makers who share our values of precision, quality, and authenticity to supply rigs for our community.

What Is the Rig Supply Programme?

The Rig Supply Programme connects TAA with skilled rig makers who can supply premium, hand-tied rigs for our community.
This isn’t employment. It’s collaboration. You work independently, supply rigs to our specifications, and receive fair compensation for your craft. We handle quality control, branding, and sales. You focus on what you do best: tying exceptional rigs.
This is small-batch, quality-focused supply. We’re not chasing volume. We’re building a network of trusted makers who understand that every rig represents TAA’s reputation.

How the Programme Works

From application to ongoing supply, here’s the complete process
Apply

Submit your application with clear photos of rigs you’ve tied. Tell us about your experience, approach to quality, and why you want to join.

Initial Review
We assess your application against our quality standards and programme needs. We’re looking for skill, consistency, and alignment with TAA values.
Trial Batch
Selected applicants complete a small trial batch (typically 10-20 rigs) to our specifications. This helps us assess quality, consistency, and working relationship.
Quality Assessment
We test your trial rigs for knot strength, component quality, presentation, and species-specific performance. We provide detailed feedback.
Onboarding
Successful makers are onboarded with clear guidelines, specifications, material sources, pricing agreements, and supply schedules.
Ongoing Supply
You supply rigs according to agreed timelines and specifications. We provide regular feedback, support, and prompt payment for completed batches.

Frequently Asked Question

Here are answers to the questions we hear most often from aspiring Programme members
Do I need to be a professional rig maker to apply?
No. We work with hobbyists, part-time makers, and professionals. What matters is skill, consistency, and commitment to quality.
Pricing varies based on complexity, materials, and volume. Simple rigs might be £2-4 each, whilst complex multi-hook or specialist rigs could be £5-10+. We agree on pricing before you start.
Either option works. We can supply approved materials, or you can source your own (subject to our quality approval). We’ll discuss this during onboarding.
This varies based on demand and your capacity. Trial batches are typically 10-20 rigs. Ongoing supply can be small batches (20-50) or larger volumes (100+) depending on your availability.
Initial review: 1-2 weeks. Trial batch and assessment: 2-4 weeks. Onboarding: 1 week. Total: typically 4-8 weeks from application to first supply.
Yes. Joining the programme doesn’t restrict your ability to sell rigs independently. We only ask that rigs supplied to TAA meet our specifications and aren’t identical to those sold elsewhere.
We’ll provide detailed feedback and work with you to improve. If issues persist, we may pause supply until quality improves, or end the arrangement if standards can’t be met.
Communication is key. If you can’t meet a deadline, let us know as early as possible. We’re flexible and understand life happens, but reliability is important.
Not necessarily. We can work with individuals, sole traders, or registered businesses. We’ll discuss legal and tax considerations during onboarding.
We review all applications carefully, but we can only work with a limited number of makers at a time. If your application isn’t successful now, we encourage you to reapply in the future as the programme grows.
